Patricia is a performance poet from Upton, Massachusetts. Transplanted from NJ in 2003, she is happy to have discovered the Poetry Extravaganza! She has been writing poetry all her life. Writing poems to perform for others to hear has been a long-time goal and she hopes to publish a book of poetry in the future. She performs at various open mics around Massachusetts, sometimes as the only poet in a sea of musicians, comics and belly dancers! In 2026 she read for the New England Poetry Club in Westwood and for the 140 Arts Collaborative for the Poetry and Music Evening at the Upton Community Center. She has appeared at the Poetry Extravaganza at the Mill in West Boylston, The Broadway Diner in Worcester and performed on stage at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts. PATTY enjoys occasionally surprising her audience with special effects. She holds an MA and BS in Speech Language Pathology as well as minors in Linguistics and Psychology. Patricia’s poetry is lyrical, as she studies musical lyrics of the greats like Paul McCarthy, Paul Simon, and Billy Joel as well as today’s crossover and occasional twangy Country artists. Her poetic themes explore nostalgia, nature, people and favorite places in New England and New Jersey. Currently retired, she enjoyed her years as a speech therapist working with children of all ages. She invites you to enjoy listening to her rhymes and rhythms and discover relatable poetry about everyday life that just might make you smile!
