October 24 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Karen Warinsky’s “Poets at Large” is back for its 7th season. This month features poet Sharon Arsego and spoken word and sound collaboration Aeroelastic Flutter. Poet Linda Blakesley will share an extended set during the open mic. $10 suggested donation; email karen.warinsky@gmail.com to join the open mic.
Sharon Arsego is from Bristol where she works as a senior administrative assistant for the city.
She has three published collections including Scenes and Sonnets which is an ekphrastic
collaboration with Massachusetts photographer Wendy Tobin. Arsego is an active participant in
various arts and culture communities, has been a featured spoken word performer for two

Aeroelastic Flutter is a spoken word and sound collaboration, combining the often-absurdist
poetry of Jim Whitten with the guitar work and sound exploration of Nicholas Pecsok. Their
project experiments with lo-fi audio and borderline performance art, challenging audiences to
reevaluate how poetry can be performed and defined.
Linda Blakesley will do an extended read in the open mic segment. Blakesley is a poet from
Coventry, CT who hosts a monthly open mic in connection with the Coventry Arts Guild,
providing a platform for new and veteran poets. Linda works in adult education.
Poets at Large has brought over 150 published and awarded poets to the area since 2020 and
dozens of people have participated in the open mic portions during that time. Poets at Large is a
project of Windham Arts. All events are ADA compliant and are recommended for ages 16 and
up. Readings for the rest of the season are sponsored in part by donations from bankHometown,
Charter Oak FCU, WHZ Financial and The Putnam Area Foundation. Contact
karen.warinsky@gmail.com to sign up for the open mic; 5-minute max as time allows.
