Protesting with Rosa Parks recounts the experiences of over 95 people who, like Rosa Parks, refused to give up their seats, their rights, and their dignity while travelling on stagecoaches, trains, steamboats, streetcars, buses, planes, cars, elevators, and even a bus station shoeshine stand. Some were or became famous as civil rights leaders and activists. Others were, and are, “ordinary” citizens. Together they changed the shape of American history.
