Cheryl L. Bonin is a cancerous wench (of the breast variety) who writes darkly humorous snark-filled poetry, nonfiction essays and short stories about her experiences living with a shitty disease because it’s cheaper than therapy. She counts among her finer yet distinctly dubious experiences: firing a civil war cannon twice without loss of limb, driving a team of sled dogs across a frozen Canadian tundra without falling off the sled and busting her fat ass, getting motorboated by a complete stranger in a Nashville honky tonk, and kissing Tony Orlando, Burt Reynolds and Johnny Depp without their permission. She is the 3rd place winner of the 2022 Frank O’Hara Poetry Contest, for her poem “Burnt”, which was subsequently published in the Worcester Review. She also had one of her nonfiction essays published in the Worcester Magazine in October of 2023. When not ranting about how much she despises the color pink or out seeking random photo ops with famous male celebrities, Cheryl is hard at work on her debut manuscript, “ Impressive, But Not In a Good Way” which she hopes to have published while she’s still vertical..
