Carolyn Howe writes poetry and paints watercolors at her home on Patch Reservoir in Worcester, MA. She is an Associate Professor, Emerita, College of the Holy Cross, where she taught sociology for twenty years. Her chapbook ACROSS THE STREET is a personal and political memoir of her reflections on the world around her, from childhood to the present, which have shaped her commitments to social justice, equality, and peace. She also writes poems that address her connection to nature, especially the wildlife on Patch Reservoir and the mountains in Colorado, her love of dogs, the joys of family, and the challenges of growing old. She is currently working on a second chapbook.
