A Celebration of the Life and Work of Elizabeth Bishop

Maynard Public Library will present “A Celebration of the Life and Work of Elizabeth Bishop.” Authors Lloyd Schwartz and Megan Marshall will discuss Bishop’s life and poetry. Worcester poet Elizabeth Bishop was the winner of the Pulitzer Prize, the National Book Award, and the National Book Critics Circle Award, and many other awards. She has been called “the most famous poet you never heard of.”

Lloyd Schwartz is a poet, a professor at the University of Massachusetts Boston, a Pulitzer Prize winner, and the author of Elizabeth Bishop: Prose, Poems, and Letters. He is currently the Poet Laureate of Somerville and a frequent contributor to NPR’s Fresh Air. Megan Marshall is a Professor of English at Emerson College, a Pulitzer Prize winner, and the author of the biography Elizabeth Bishop: A Miracle for Breakfast.
