Worcester State University will host Steve Kuusisto on Wednesday, March 2, for the annual Hoyer Poetry Reading (3 p.m.) and the Honors Program’s Keynote lecture on disability and human rights (12:30 p.m.). Both events will occur at the May Street Auditorium at 280 May Street, Worcester, MA 01602, and they are open to the public.
Recognized by the NYT as a “powerful writer with a musical ear for language and a gift for emotional candor,” Kuusisto is a 2021 Guggenheim Fellow in Literature, the author of several collections of poetry with Copper Canyon including Letters Borges and Only Bread, Only Light, as well as the bestselling memoirs Have Dog, Will Travel; Planet of the Blind; and Eavesdropping: a Memoir of Blindness and Listening. These will be terrific events, not to be missed.
