2022 Poetry Word Series – March edition
March 19, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
The first event of the 2022 Poetry Word Series, scheduled for March 19th (snow date March 26), presents Jovonna Van Pelt, author of Unrelated Questions, Karen Warinsky, former Montreal Prize finalist and author of Gold in Autumn, and National Beat Poet Laureate (2020) Paul Richmond, author of several books including You Might Need a Bigger Hammer, The 24 Hour Store was Closed, and his latest, Swimming on the Titanic. Richmond operates Human Error Publishing and is a member of psychedelic funk band, Do It Now. Open Mic reader Robert Eugene Perry is the author of four books including Surrendering to the Path, and his newest, Earthsongs, which will be released this year.
Fourteen published poets will read in a poetry/spoken word series this year at the G.B. & Lexi Singh Performance Center/Dennis H. Rice Community Plaza, 60 Douglas Road, Whitinsville, MA. The four events are free to the public and will include an open mic segment for audience members, as time allows. Open Mic participants will read up to five minutes each and sign up at the start of each event.
The series is being hosted by ValleyCAST, the arts and culture arm of Open Sky Community Services in collaboration with Poets at Large. Following Open Sky’s current COVID safety protocols, all attendees will be required to wear a mask regardless of vaccination status.
