DESCRIPTION:  \nReading and book signings featuring Worcester Poet Laureate Oliver de la Paz and poets Karen Elizabeth Sharpe and Chris Noonan. \n  \nOliver de la Paz is the Poet Laureate of Worcester\, MA for 2023-2025. He is the author and editor of seven books: Names Above Houses\, Furious Lullaby\, Requiem for the Orchard\, Post Subject: A Fable\, and The Boy in the Labyrinth\, a finalist for the Massachusetts Book Award in Poetry. His newest work\, The Diaspora Sonnets\, is forthcoming from Liveright Press in 2023. With Stacey Lynn Brown he co-edited A Face to Meet the Faces: An Anthology of Contemporary Persona Poetry. A founding member\, Oliver serves as the co-chair of the Kundiman advisory board and on the board for Poetry Daily. \n  \n  \n  \n \nElizabeth Sharpe is from Westminster\, Massachusetts. Karen is the author of Prayer Can Be Anything\, by Finishing Line Press (2023) and a poetry editor at The Worcester Review. Her poems have recently appeared or will appear in The MacGuffin\, West Trade Review\, Mom Egg Review\, Catalyst\, the Mizmor Anthology\, Mason Street Review\, among others. Karen has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net. \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nChris Noonan is a philosopher at heart and an environmental scientist by trade. He has authored three books of poetry; Penumbra\, Hearts & Highways and Kaleidoscopic. He enjoys writing\, outdoor activities\, traveling and spending time with family and friends. He grew up in Central Massachusetts and lives in Worcester with his family. \n  \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:  \n  \nThe Thirsty Lab poetry reading\, normally based out of Princeton\, Mass.\, continues to meet virtually. On Tuesday\, August 22nd\, 2023 Elizabeth Lund will be the featured reader. Please Click Here to register. \n\n\n\n\n\nElizabeth Lund is the award-winning host of Poetic Lines at NewTV. The show features in-depth interviews with emerging and established poets about their work and creative process. She also interviews poets and reviews major collections of poetry for The Christian Science Monitor\, where she served as poetry editor for 10 years. From 2015 to 2020\, Elizabeth wrote a monthly column about poetry for The Washington Post. Elizabeth co-directs Haiku Newton\, which began in 2022 and brings haiku on lawn-style signs to venues around Newton. Her own poems have appeared in various publications including The Dalhousie Review\, Connecticut Review\, The Christian Century\, and the Patterson Literary Review. “Un-Silenced” is her debut collection. Elizabeth has read or spoken at festivals and venues along the East Coast including the Dodge Poetry Festival\, the largest poetry festival in the US\, and the Gaithersburg Book Festival.
