SUMMARY:Barbara Morrison Poetry Reading
DESCRIPTION:The New Dawn Writers’ Group is proud to announce we will have Barbara Morris in house on July 25th at 6:00 p.m. for a reading. This is a free event. She will read from her poetry books and her award-winning memoir. Following the reading there will be time for questions and discussion. Then at 7:00 we will transition into an open mic. Bring something you’d like to read. We look forward to seeing you there! \nWe are located at 84 Main Street\, Ashburnham\, MA. It’s the big white church and home to New Dawn Arts and the Spice and Grain. \n  \n  \n \nBarbara Morrison\, who writes under the name B. Morrison\, is a poet and writer.  In Terrarium\, she uses poetry to explore the influence of place: where you live\, where you travel\, where you go in dreams. Her previous poetry collection\, Here at Least\, chronicles a journey undertaken in response to Rilke’s directive: “You must change your life.” She is also the author of a memoir\, Innocent: Confessions of a Welfare Mother\, a powerful coming-of-age story that dispels some of the myths and misunderstandings about those living in poverty. It was recently named Best Nonfiction Audiobook by Independent Press Awards. Her writing has appeared in anthologies and literary journals such as Little Patuxent Review\, Toronto Journal\, The Sun Magazine\, Tiny Lights\, and elsewhere. She conducts writing classes and workshops and provides editing services. You can learn more about her work here.
