SUMMARY:WCPA 2021 Annual Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Join the Worcester County Poetry Association for our Annual Meeting on February 28\, 2021\, and help us celebrate our 50th anniversary! The afternoon consists of a short Business Meeting and a poetry feature by Tim Mayo. We’ll start at 2:00 pm on Zoom. \nRegistration is needed to join the event. After registering\, Zoom will e-mail you a meeting link. \nRegister \nTim Mayo holds an ALB\, cum laude\, from Harvard University and an MFA from The Bennington Writing Seminars.  Among the many places his poems and reviews have appeared are The American Journal of Poetry\, Avatar Review\, Barrow Street\, Narrative Magazine\,  Naugatuck River Review\, ONE\, Poetry International\, Poet Lore\, River Styx\, Salamander\, San Pedro River Review\, Tar River Poetry\, Web Del Sol Review of Books\, Valparaiso Poetry Review\, Verse Daily\, Verse-Virtual and The Writer’s Almanac.  His first full-length collection\, The Kingdom of Possibilities (Mayapple Press\, 2009\,) was a semi-finalist for the 2009 Brittingham and Pollock Awards and a finalist for the 2009 May Swenson Award. \nHis second volume of poems\, Thesaurus of Separation\, was published by Phoenicia Publishing (Montreal) in July of 2016. The collection was twice a finalist for the Quercus Review Poetry Book Award and twice a semi-finalist for the Word Works Press Washington Prize. It was also a finalist for both the 2017 Eric Hoffer Book Award and the 2017 Montaigne Medal. \nHis latest collection\, Notes to the Mental Hospital Timekeeper\, was published in November 2019 by Kelsay Books and won Honorable Mention in the  2020 Eric Hoffer Book Award chapbook category. \nA seven-time Pushcart Prize Nominee and a two-time finalist for the Paumanok Award\, Mayo is also the recipient of three Vermont Writers Week Fellowships from the Vermont Studio Center. He lives in Brattleboro\, VT\, where he was a founding member and organizer of the Brattleboro Literary Festival author.
