DESCRIPTION:Join award-winning poet Susan Roney-O’Brien as she teaches Poetry Writing 101! in a virtual workshop from Worcester Public Library. \nYou have the tools already: experiences\, emotions\, insights\, and language. Poetry gives you voice. Sometimes you go deep\, delve into an incident or memory you had feared\, and bring it into the light. Sometimes there is so much joy that music sings from the page. After a few short exercises to get started\, we’ll read some wonderful poems\, talk about craft\, and open to each other’s voices. Come write! \nSusan Roney-O’Brien earned her MFA at Warren Wilson College and is the author of five poetry collections. She hosts monthly poetry readings\, teaches workshops\, and coordinates the Stanley Kunitz summer writing series. \nAdvanced registration is required for this free event.
